How?
Do you know that mechanic, perhaps even doctor, that you describe as a straight shooter? Might be a little rough around the edges. Doesn’t bother to remember the name of your pet bird. However, they say what they mean and they do what they say.
Most of us have come to realize that life is thankfully less of a headache when finding such a person.
Well, these folks are some of my role models, and I enjoy it when I’m regarded as one of them.
A little secret: Not only is this type of interaction easier for the client, it’s also easier for me.
Ok. First Steps?
Have you ever had the teacher ask “any questions? “while you are still desperately trying to figure out what page you’re supposed to be on. Life insurance can be like that, but it doesn’t have to be.
I still remember the feeling of being mystified when looking into getting a larger policy after we had our first kid. Now mind you I had some education in life insurance and was not a total beginner.
Didn’t matter. Within 4 minutes the excited insurance agent had totally lost me. Diagrams of brightly coloured arrows pointing this way and that. Jargon and terminology I’d never heard before.
Years later as my own understanding of insurance deepened, I realized that particular insurance agent was almost entirely correct in what he was suggesting.
However, he was talking at me and not with me and that was too confusing.
Talking with you
The consulting process is often best, when it’s done in a conversational manner. Discussions of getting to know one another and finding what you are looking for. And, while some good information can be picked up after every talk, it’s the questions that are created after every chat where the needed answers begin.
Who am I?
I grew up on a hobby farm in Southern Ontario. In many ways a typical Canadian kid. With my brothers and friends if a day involved running, jumping and whacking something with a stick, it was a fine day indeed. I loved school even though I was a world class day dreamer.

Canada has quite a collection of very well-run insurance companies. They are competitive with each other and offer a wide range of products. Within each organization is an impressive stable of specialists that can help with the nitty gritty details. Because of this, just about any client can have a tailor made solution to what they are asking for. My job is to help talk you through what you are looking for and then get you the clear information so that you are comfortable making a decision.
Another secret: Insurance companies have your best interests at heart. They would prefer it if you could live forever and never get sick or hurt. That would a be true win win.

Who do I help?
Within reason I enjoy talking to just about everybody. I have clients that range from being newly born to people up in their 80’s. I can deal with simple requests to complicated corporate insurance scenarios. New parents, business owners, students, dentists, farmers, retirees I’ve helped all kinds of people. Though we all share some similarities everybody is unique.
Why me?
Only you can truly answer that. I enjoy what I do and I enjoy working with people. I’m highly experienced and a good deal of my knowledge has been won the hard way. I don’t pretend to know what I don’t know. And my research background drives me to find answers.
